Adrienne Landau Fall 2010 Fur Collection: YUM!
by Joseph Miceli-Magnone on Feb.23, 2010, under Fashion Week Fall 2010
WOW! Finally, a collection that was truly luxurious. A true vision to behold! Styled by Rebecca Weinberg, best known for her work on “Sex And The City”, the models were posed throughout the venue in diva stances worthy of SJP herself! The collection was a mix of different colored fox, rabbit, and mink. Truly a glamorous nod to Siberian chic!
Boudoir D’huitres Fall 2010 Runway Show
by Joseph Miceli-Magnone on Feb.16, 2010, under Fashion Week Fall 2010
Deliciously extravagant! The show opened with a rendition of Mozart’s “The Magic Flute” “Queen of The Night” aria. Absolutely stunning costuming and vocals! Upon the end of the aria, the fashion show started in earnest with the models wearing bright crimson, black and cream colored clothing. They were beautifully constructed and very avant garde. Definitely the most intriguing collection I’ve seen this season. Since the entire collection was inspired by “The Magic Flute”, all the models’ hair was powdered and styled in the manner of Marie Antoinette! Truly an amazing, theatrical way to display the clothing. Tres chic!
Claiborne by John Bartlett Spring 2010: A Symphony of Color And Comfort
by Joseph Miceli-Magnone on Sep.11, 2009, under Events, People
What better way to start off New York’s Fashion Week than in the hallowed halls of the Liz Claiborne fashion empire in the heart of Time Square. Having been invited by John Bartlett to view his Claiborne by John Bartlett Spring 2010 collection, I was able to experience an explosion of color that is the new signature of the Claiborne menswear line. Not afraid to take chances, Mr. Bartlett infused his classic sensabilities with colors such as petunia purple, mandarine orange, bright foliage green and stunning Bahama blue. Classic tailoring is par for the course, as in all of Mr. Bartlett’s designs, and comfort rings true throughout the entire collection. Soft fabrics and a stunning navy inspired look brings to mind the casual look of a bygone era of deconstructed style and elegance. Truly not the Claiborne of yester year, but an exceptional composition of style, class and elegance. Bravo John Bartlett!
